Targeted Training and Apprenticeships Fund (TTAF)

The Government is funding free training in critical industries to help get the economy moving post-lockdown. The training is free for everyone enrolling in key programmes – for all ages and circumstances – over the next two years. The aim is to support all learners looking to gain skills or re-train in key industries where demand from employers is already strong or is expected to grow.

 Industries included in the free training scheme are:

  • Primary industries, including agriculture, horticulture and viticulture, fisheries (including aquaculture) and forestry;
  • Construction, including building, plumbing, and civil engineering;
  • Community support, including youth work, care for elderly, counselling and community health, including mental health and addiction support;
  • Manufacturing and mechanical engineering and technology;
  • Electrical engineering; and
  • Road transport (e.g. heavy vehicle operator).
