Driving a Light 4WD Vehicle

If you are using light 4WD vehicles in off-road terrain then this is the short course for you.

About the course

By the end of this two day course you will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to prepare for and make all the required checks (both before and after use) in the safe operation of light 4WD (4x4) vehicles in off-road terrain including watercourses.

Method of study

Two day short course.

Unit standards

Gain 8 credits across the following unit standards:

  • 17976 - Demonstrate knowledge of operating a light 4WD vehicle in an off-road environment
  • 17978 - Operate a light 4WD vehicle in an off-road environment

Entry requirements

  • Must hold a Full Class 1 Licence.
