About the course

If you are transporting Dangerous goods you may need to have a dangerous goods (D) Endorsement on your driver licence. We recommend checking with New Zealand Transport Agency to identify if you need this endorsement.

The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to safely transport Dangerous Goods by road or to safely load and secure Dangerous Goods.

Method of study

One day short course.

Unit Standards

Gain 5 credits - level 3:

  • 16718 - Demonstrate knowledge of law and practice for the transport of Dangerous goods by road, this Unit Standard will be added to your record of learning on NZQA.

Entry requirements

  • You must hold a current New Zealand restricted driver’s license
  • Applicants for whom English is a second language must meet IELTS (or equivalent) Level 5.5
  • Experience of handling Dangerous Goods and/or driving vehicles loaded with Dangerous Goods.
