You'll learn about salon culture, hierarchy and terminology so you can communicate appropriately with clients, peers and supervisors. Career opportunities This qualification shows employers that you can perform basic tasks competently within a salon environment and enables you to be employed as a junior or assistant stylist in a hairdressing salon. Applicants for whom English is a second language must meet General or Academic IELTS 5 with no band score lower than 5 or NZQA-approved equivalent. You will be offered a place subject to meeting the entry and selection requirements and the availability of places on the programme.
