You get the best of both worlds when you study agriculture with us, thanks to a new partnership with the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. Study options are flexible and we work with you to transition you to a job on the farm as soon as you’ve mastered the fundamental skills you need. Wrap-around support means we’re always here to help – even after you’ve started work.
Learning is practical in nature, with plenty of time spent on our Reefton training farm. You’ll learn how to work with livestock, drive four wheelers, carry out farm maintenance like fence repairs, learn about pasture, feed and soil management, understand biosecurity, assist with milking, understand health and safety and learn to identify risks.
