About the role
Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP) is a business division of Te Pūkenga, based in Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island, that focuses on providing ākonga (learner) centred education and training.
We have a vacancy for a carpentry tutor who has up-to-date knowledge and experience of building and construction as a qualified trade’s person, holding current building licence (site one or above). Ideally you will be working, or have recently worked in the carpentry industry, or in a secondary/tertiary education environment. You will bring a high level of practical knowledge, along with a relevant professional or vocational qualification in construction.
The ability to inspire and teach students of all ages and diverse backgrounds is the key to success in this role, along with the desire to create a supportive and motivating learning environment.
Ideally you will hold a tertiary teaching qualification, or be prepared to work towards gaining a tertiary teaching qualification, with our support.
