Civil and Mining Graduate

Programme attended: Civil Plant Operation (Level 3)

Doing the course was a no-brainer: once you have learned those skills, they open up a whole world of work opportunities.

I had been a dairy farmer and worked in construction in Australia, but after coming home I wanted something more long-term. I was always interested in diggers and trucks so enrolling was a bit of a no-brainer – there are plenty of jobs in the industry and I know that most of the people who do the course end up walking straight in to work at the end.

I started doing some part-time work while I was still training, then I applied for a job with a trucking company after I graduated. I got the job and I’m really happy now, getting to work on a variety of machinery. I know I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t done the training.
