Course Attended: Food and Beverage Service for Cafes and Restaurants (Level 3)
No matter what you want to be, my advice is to do the study and get the skills. You just don’t know what’s involved in the job until you get in to it and it’s so much more enjoyable when you know what you’re doing.
I always had an interest in hospitality and I’d like to work in management or run my own business someday, so I thought I’d been start with the basics. I came straight from school to the Polytechnic and did my training while I was working part-time at Speight’s Ale House. Now I’m being given more responsibility and I think I’ll carry on with another business management course next year. I’m not sure exactly what I’ll end up doing yet, so the qualifications are important and I’m just getting as much experience as I can.
