Project House 2019

TPP’s student-built house to benefit community in Rotary partnership

Tai Poutini Polytechnic is once again partnering with Rotary through the building and public auction of this year’s TPP carpentry student-built house.

Proceeds of the house auction will go to St John West Coast, contributing to the organisation’s Save a Life Project.

For the last few years, TPP carpentry students build a three-bedroom house as part of their training to gain real-world work experience. Once complete, locals can bid on the home at auction knowing the proceeds will be going to a good cause.

The partnership with Rotary and St Johns is an excellent example of TPP getting involved in the local community.

It’s a great opportunity for TPP to support and encourage wider community initiatives and build strong ties with regional organisations.

TPP carpentry students are already working hard on this year’s build, under the watchful eye of our experience tutors.

Locals are encouraged to support the project and for those interested in the auction there will be an Open Day on the build site later this year ahead of the auction itself.

The new owners of the home will be purchasing a 120 square metre, three-bedroom, two bathroom home completed with excellent workmanship.
