20 Oct 2013

MAINZ DJ programme moves South After its success in Auckland, MAINZ, a faculty of Tai Poutini Polytechnic, will offer aspiring DJs and producers the chance to study in Christchurch for a Certificate in DJ and Electronic Music Production. Auckland programme leader Matt "Recloose" Chicoine says the genre has gone through the roof overseas and expects that popularity to hit here. He believes the Christchurch programme will become equally popular due to a vibrant electronic music scene in the Garden City and a demand from people there to get into the industry. Paul Bimler, will head the Christchurch programme starting in February 2014. Paul is a musician and DJ who has produced prolifically with a range of artists. Paul has created five albums under the names Confucius and Basscamp and has also work as a DJ for 15 years under the name Soulprovider. Paul is passionate about sharing his musical knowledge and experience with the first cohort of students to go through the Christchurch programme.
