Allan Beaumont Student Award

This Award of $1,500 is made annually to a student from the West Coast region enrolled, or preparing to enrol, on a full-time programme at one of TPP's West Coast campuses.  The purpose of this Award is to assist second-chance students to gain access to tertiary education.

Preference will be given to West Coast residents who are 30 years of age or over and are either returning to formal education after a long absence or have never previously had the opportunity to undertake further study.

Cave Creek Student Memorial Scholarships

The Cave Creek Student Memorial Fund was established to honour the 13 TPP Outdoor Recreation students who lost their lives when a viewing platform collapsed at Cave Creek on the West Coast on 28 April 1995.

Students enrolled, or preparing to enrol, in any full-time outdoor pursuits programme (Certificate in Outdoor EducationDiploma in Outdoor Instruction and Guiding, or the Certificate in Ski Patrol) at Tai Poutini Polytechnic are eligible to apply for one of up to 20 academic scholarships. All applicants are required to be New Zealand citizens. The value of the scholarships will vary, and will be a minimum of $500 each towards programme fees or course-related costs and expenses.

South Westland Community Activities Trust


South Westland Community Activities Trust Attendance Assistance Awards

Four awards of up to $800 each will be made to students enrolled, or preparing to enrol, at the Greymouth Campus on a full-time programme of at least 17 weeks duration. The awards are made solely to assist with costs associated in attending a programme of study at the Greymouth Campus.

Two awards of up to $1,500 each will be made to students enrolled, or preparing to enrol, at the Greymouth Campus on a full-time programme of at least 17 weeks duration. The awards are made solely to assist with programme fees and will take the form of a credit/refund against programme fees invoice.

Tai Poutini Polytechnic West Coast Schools Awards

Each year TPP offers a number of awards to students from West Coast secondary schools who demonstrate goal setting and passion in any of the programmes offered at TPP.  An Individual award of $1,000 each towards programme fees at TPP is available to students currently studying in either Year 11, 12 or 13 at one of the West Coast schools listed in the Terms of Reference.  Students will need to complete the application form, provide a support form from a teacher, and attend an interview with TPP staff.

West Coast Trades Academy Training Scholarship

The West Coast Trades Academy Training Scholarships are sponsored by Tai Poutini Polytechnic and provide two fees-free places for West Coast Trades Academy students to attend Tai Poutini Polytechnic. Scholarships will be awarded to students who have demonstrated a high level of achievement in their Trades Academy programme, who are committed to developing a career in their trade area, and who wish to pursue further training and education at TPP. MAINZ Scholarships

Academic Scholarship

$2100 towards Fees of Bachelor of Audio Engineering and Production

This scholarship is available to a student who has applied for the Bachelor of Audio Engineering and Production (Christchurch) for 2017.

Terms of Reference:

  • Has applied for the BAEP for 2017
  • Has been accepted for the BAEP 2017
  • Has merit or excellence credits in Level 3 Physics or Level 2 (or higher) Music
  • Show an interest and motivation towards studying the BAEP as indicated in their letter of application

To apply:

Applicants have to submit a letter of application to the Programme Manager Oliver Hancock by email by the 31st of January 2017.  Oliverh@tpp.ac.nz.  SUBJECT LINE: Academic Scholarship

Notification:

The successful student will be notified by letter within a week of closing that they have received the scholarship and they will have a fee reduction of $2100 on their fees. 

 

Technical Scholarship

$2100 towards Fees of Bachelor of Audio Engineering and Production

This scholarship is available to a student who has applied for the Bachelor of Audio Engineering and Production (Christchurch) for 2017.

Terms of Reference:

  • Has applied for the BAEP for 2017
  • Has been accepted for the BAEP 2017
  • High standard of production and/or music composition and/or recording mix
  • Show an interest and motivation towards studying the BAEP as indicated in their letter of application

MAINZ / Smokefreerockquest Scholarship

At each regional final one MAINZ Musicianship Award will be presented to the most outstanding musician. Each Award winner is then eligible to submit an essay on their musical philosophy and career/education plans. The winner will be awarded the MAINZ Scholarship, which consists of a year’s full tuition fees for any MAINZ Certificate programme, provided the recipient meets the entry criteria.

The MAINZ Scholarship winner will be announced at the Smokefreerockquest National Final.

MAINZ / Smokefree Pacifica Beats Scholarship

This prize is awarded to the most outstanding musician at each Regional Final. Each Regional Musicianship Award winner then becomes eligible for the MAINZ Scholarship: one year’s full tuition fees for any MAINZ Certificate programme, provided the recipient meets the entry criteria. This will be awarded to one Regional Award winner based on written material submitted by them, and the MAINZ Scholarship winner will be announced at the National Final.
